Usually this means that you did not enter your BlackBerry PIN number correctly when you purchased the program. Some of our programs use the BlackBerry PIN to generate a registration code for you. If the PIN is entered incorrectly it will generate an invalid registration code. The BlackBerry PIN is 8 digits and does NOT contain the letter 'O' (this is actually the number zero). Depending on the model, you can locate the PIN under "Options>Status" or "Tools>Settings>Status" or "Settings>Options>Status" on your BlackBerry. The PIN can also be seen in the bottom left corner of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager when the BlackBerry is attached to the computer.
If you are having problems logging into a website, please contact us with your order number.
Many of our programs must connect to the Internet through our servers which provide content optimized for mobile devices. We generally include one year of free access to our servers with your purchase, unless otherwise noted. We believe this is fair considering the continuous fees involved with the hosting, bandwidth and maintenance of the servers. To continue using our web services, simply purchase another copy of the program and you will receive a new registration code giving you another year of access. This should also provide you with the latest version of the software. We are considering using more advanced subscription models in the future.
In general, you can use the BlackBerry Desktop Software to uninstall an application by unchecking it in the Application Loader.
In some cases where you have installed the application OTA or via the Web Installer it may not be recognized by the Desktop Software. In that case, you can manually delete it from the BlackBerry itself. This can be done by going to the "Options" or "Advanced Options" screen on your BlackBerry and then opening up the "Applications" screen. From there select the name of the program you want to remove and choose "Delete" from the menu. If the program is not listed in the main list, open up the "Modules" screen from the menu and look for it there. The Modules screen is a long list and you may need to scroll through it to find the program.
This typically means that you need to configure the TCP settings in your Blackberry.
From the BlackBerry home screen, these settings can usually be found by going to Options>TCP.
The location of the TCP settings can vary depending on your model. For example:
BlackBerry 7100t: Tools > Settings > TCP
BlackBerry 7100g/7100r/7100v: Settings > Options > TCP
BlackBerry 7230/7280/7290: Options > TCP
BlackBerry 7250/7520: N/A
BlackBerry 8700: Settings>Options>Advanced Options>TCP
Here are some settings for popular carriers that have worked in the past:
| Carrier | APN | Username | Password |
|---|---|---|---|
| AT&T (Cingular Blue) | proxy | none | none |

DO NOT ENTER AN APN FOR THE BLACKBERRY 8830 WORLD PHONE
We recommend turning wireless off/on from the BlackBerry home screen after entering the settings above. Some users have reported that it is necessary to soft reset (ALT-CAP-DEL) the device or even remove the battery from the BlackBerry after entering the above setttings to reconfigure the device.FYI, Direct TCP is the preferred method of connecting to the Internet with your BlackBerry. It usually provides a more reliable data connection than going through a WAP gateway.
Settings above are case sensitive - enter carefully.

First, check to see if the application is already listed in the BlackBerry Desktop software. Open the Application Loader and scroll through the list of applications. If the program does not have a check next to it, check it and continue with the installation.
If the Application Loader get confused it is best to delete the program from the Application Loader, close the BlackBerry Desktop Software, and then try to reinstall the program using the Application Loader. To delete the program, highlight it and press the delete button. The idea being to delete the program from both the BlackBerry and the Application Loader (so that it does not appear in the list).
It is also possible that you don't have the matching BlackBerry Handheld software
installed on your PC. You can download the BlackBerry Handheld software from your mobile carriers website.
Device Software Download Sites
If you continue to have problems, try uninstalling the BlackBerry Desktop Software and reinstalling with a different version. This has worked for us in the past when experiencing this problem. You will probably still need to install the matching handheld software on your PC as well.
Notes:
This issue can be resolved by updating your desktop software. You can get an updated version of the desktop software from your carrier.
Below this message are two choices for "Allow this connection" or "Deny this connection". Below that are two checkboxes for "Don't ask this again" for either all http connections or only this particular http connection. Use the trackwheel to navigate to the desired checkbox and press the spacebar to select it. Then continue by selecting "Allow this connection" as normal. The popup should disappear for subsequent connections.
You'll get "Permission denied" if you have (accidentally) answered "Deny this connection" along with "Don't ask this again" checked on the HTTP[S] network permissions popup. To get around "Permission denied" on subsequent uses, you need to re-enable the network permissions popup.
Next time you use the application, you should see the network permissions popup as per normal. Just make sure you select "Allow this connection" the next time.
How do I erase the saved data from the application?
Back up all data first to prevent any accidental data loss
This message indicates that the program could not successfully connect to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) with Mobile Data Service (MDS). The resolution depends on whether or not you intend to connect via BES.
To connect via the BlackBerry Enterprise Server: Make sure your company is Running BES version 3.5 or later with MDS enabled for your device. Contact your BES administrator to confirm this information. Once you are sure that MDS is enabled, you will typically need to cradle your device to receive the appropriate service book entry for your handheld. The current list of service book entries can be viewed by selecting Options>Service Book. The service book entry you need will typically look something like this: Internet [IPPP]. Please contact your BES administrator for futher assistance.
If you are not using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server: You have probably installed the wrong edition of our software. Please contact us to arrange an exchange.
Make sure you've selected the correct carrier in the settings. Also make sure that you have a strong signal and that your wireless radio is on.
If you have an IT policy on your device it can prevent you from making certain types of connections for security reasons. This is typical of a company using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server but may also occur if you are using BlackBerry Unite.
If you are receiving this message, the easiest thing to do is to disable the Firewall. This is located in Options > Security Options > Firewall. Change the status to "Disabled". You may also want to "Reset Settings" and "Reset All Counts" from the Firewall menu.
If your firewall is locked and you are using a company BlackBerry with a BES please contact your IT department. If you are using Unite you can probably remove the IT policy yourself by removing the device from Unite and/or using the Javaloader "Reset to Factory" option. The reset to factory option requires a device with OS 4.3 or greater but some have reported it to also work with OS 4.2.2.
Sometimes wiping the device is the only way to resolve this issue. This can be done by going to Options > Security Options > General Settings and choosing "Wipe Handheld" from the menu. WARNING!! Wiping the device will erase all messages, service books, TCP settings, etc. Do this at your own risk!
You can use the Enterprise Edition of our software if your company is running the BlackBerry Enterprise Server with MDS enabled. The Personal Edition will not work at this time because Verizon does not provide a WAP gateway that we know of. However, the BlackBerry 7250 from Verizon should work as it supports Direct TCP.
Can I use your program with Bell Mobility or Telus in Canada?
You can use the Enterprise Edition if your company is running a BlackBerry Enterprise Server or if you are using a BlackBerry 7510 on the Telus Mike network. The Personal Edition isn't known to work on the Bell Mobility or Telus networks.
Make sure that your BlackBerry has wireless turned on.
Please update your BlackBerry's Handheld software to a newer version. Contact your carrier for the latest version.
You can get a temporary fix for this issue by performing a soft reset of your BlackBerry: hold down ALT-CAP-DEL simultaneously. This issue is caused by pressing the ESC button while content from the Internet is loading.
If you've just ordered data service for your BlackBerry, it can often take Nextel a few days to establish service. Please try again after a day or two.
You've likely installed the Personal Edition of our product. Please contact us for the Enterprise editon.
This error only seems to occur with Direct TCP and has to do with your Carrier's DNS not resolving correctly. First, we suggest you try turning wireless off and then back on again. If that doesn't work, try soft resetting the device (ALT-CAP-DEL) or pulling the battery. If you are still getting the error message try using the carriers WAP gateway instead of Direct TCP. Sometimes this error will resolve itself in a few days.
This error happens when you are using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and your company has a restricted IT policy that does not allow for installing 3rd party applications. The only way to resolve this is to have your BlackBerry administrator change the settings on the server. This will allow you to install 3rd party applications.
Setup a favorite in WorldCam with a URL directly to the webcam JPEG image. Proprietary image formats (such as Linksys webcams) are not supported.
Some users have reported success using Axis webcams, Webcam 2000, Webcam32 and several other webcam software packages. Please note that we do not provide support for setting up webcams.
If the audio file is downloading correctly but does not play when you click the "Play" button the most likey reason is that the audio file is in a format that the BlackBerry does not support. You must use one of the formats listed in the instructions and it must be in a supported encoding. There are various "flavors" of .wav files and the BlackBerry only supports a few of them. The newer models support more .wav encodings, but they still do not support all of them.
Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the message before trying to open the attachment. You should see something like "application: file.wav (64k)" at the bottom of the message. This is where your cursor should be before you will see the "AudioPOP" menu option.
There are a couple of reasons why you could be getting this message.
First, make sure you close any email client on your desktop computer that is using the same email account that you are using with AudioPOP. If you are using Gmail, do NOT keep the gmail website open while you are using AudioPOP. These actions will prevent the email from being downloaded and removed from the server before AudioPOP has a chance to download the file.
Second, if you are using Gmail you should maintain the account occassionally by deleting old emails. If you let hundreds of emails pile up in your Gmail account it is possible that AudioPOP will timeout before it can find the email with the attachment. The other option is to use Gmails "recent" mode by preceeding your username with the word "recent:" (eg. "recent:username@gmail.com"). See the MediaPOP user guide for more information on Gmail's recent mode.
Berricons are text emoticons - they display as text symbols on the BlackBerry.
Currently, the BlackBerry can not display graphics when composing messages.
Also, a text message (SMS) is text by defintion and can not contain graphics.
Until BlackBerry adds support for graphics in outgoing messages that is all that can be done.
If you are having problems listening to music with a wired headset open BerryTunes and change the output to "Speaker Phone". Close Berrytunes and pull out the battery to reset the device. After reboot, plug in the wired headset and try again. Leave the output set to "Speaker Phone" - plugging in a wired headset should override the speakerphone.
If you are having problems listening to music with a stereo bluetooth headset open BerryTunes and change the output to "Stereo Bluetooth". Close Berrytunes and pull out the battery to reset the device. After reboot, pair the stereo bluetooth headset as you normally would and try again.
Do not choose the "Bluetooth Audio" output option in BerryTunes unless you know your device supports it and you have a mono bluetooth headset. This option is to support legacy devices and will be removed in a future version.
Make sure you have the BerryTunes application open on the BlackBerry. It is not enough to just have the application installed, it must be open and the BerryTunes screen should be visible on the BlackBerry before you start transferring files.
Make sure you are using the correct version of the BerryTunes transfer software. Previous versions of the MP3 Browser are not compatible with newer versions of BerryTunes (ie. You need to use version 2.x of the MP3 Browser with version 2.x of BerryTunes, etc.).
Also, check the "Firewall" and "Security Settings" on your BlackBerry. These screens are located under "Options -> Security Options". Open the Application Permissions, highlight BerryTunes and choose Edit Permissions and make sure USB connections are allowed. For the Firewall settings, either disable the Firewall or make sure USB connections are allowed by editing the "Default Permissions".
If you are still having problems, try resetting the BlackBerry (ALT-CAP-DEL or pull the battery) and restarting your computer. Make sure the device you want to use is connected via the USB cable. Only one BlackBerry at a time is supported - disconnect any other BlackBerry devices before using BerryTunes.
If you are on a BES, please contact your BES admin to determine if additional restrictions are in place.
To resolve this issue immediately you generally have to reboot the device by pulling the battery out or pressing ALT-CAP-DEL simultaneously.
This typically happens on CDMA devices which do not have a robust network implementation. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version of the BlackBerry OS for your device.
If you are using the BlackBerry 8130 we recommend you upgrade your BlackBerry device software to version 4.3.0.97 or greater.
If you are using the BlackBerry 8830 we recommend upgrading to BlackBerry OS 4.2.2.196 or greater.
Software Downloads for US Carriers are listed at the bottom of the screen.
This could also be caused by a problem with your carriers network. In such cases, wait a while and try again to see if the issue is resolved.
To enable media access, follow this procedure from the home screen:
Options > Security Options > Application Permissions
Highlight BerryTunes.
Select "Edit Permissions" from the menu.
Expand the "Interactions" tab.
Change Media Access to "Allow".
Adjust other permissions as desired.
The firewall on the BlackBerry is preventing a connection.
To disable the firewall, follow this procedure from the home screen:
Options > Security Options > Firewall
Change the Status to "Disabled"
If you are using a company BlackBerry and can not disable the firewall, you may need ask your IT administrator to adjust your IT policy for you.
To add a custom radio station you must type in the URL to the stations stream or a .pls file that points to the stream.
Typing in the stations website address will NOT work.
We recommend low bit rate MP3 streams such as 24Kbps or 32Kbps.
Example:
Name: WUMB
URL: http://216.235.81.102:15440/
Low bit rate streams desinged for Winamp will work best.
Windows Media Streams (.wmv files) or URLs that starts with mms:// are NOT supported.
To copy and paste a station URL from an email you can use keyboard shortcuts:
1. Press the Shift key and use the Trackball to select the text.
2. Press the Alt key then click the Trackball to copy the text.
3. To paste, press the Shift key and then click the Trackball.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide individual assistance adding custom stations. Please ask the stream provider for the URL. We recommend you get the station you want working with Winamp or iTunes and then copy the URL to your BlackBerry.
You need to type in your carriers APN in the BlackBerry TCP screen.
See the similar question above.
We have seen this happen if you hit the escape or enter key when the permissions dialog comes up. We have reported this to RIM as a bug.
Try resetting the application permissions for BerryTunes.
Options > Security Options > Application Permissions
Highlight BerryTunes and choose "Edit Permissions" from the menu.
Change everything to "Allow" for the time being.
You should also reset the firewall:
Options > Security Options > Firewall
Push the menu key and choose "Reset All Counts"
BerryTunes does not access phone logs. We need to access the Phone API in order to stop the player when you receive a phone call.
GSM networks (eg. AT&T, T-Mobile) can not recieve data and voice at the same time. This is a limitation of the technology.
CDMA networks (eg. Verizon, Sprint) are unaffected by this limitation.
If you would rather transfer your files via another method you can create a folder called "berrytunes" in the Music folder of the Media Application and put your MP3 files there.
If you are viewing the SD card as a USB drive, the correct path for Berrytunes is:
Blackberry/music/berrytunes
Be sure to turn off Mass storage mode after you transfer your files or they won't show up in BerryTunes.
wap.imagewallet.com
You will need to login, then you can save the images and set them as the background using the built in pictures application.
